When boiling corn on the cob, add a pinch of sugar to make the corn sweeter.

Add a tomato to your roast to help tenderize it.

When boiling water for pasta, toss a couple garlic cloves into the water. They will give the pasta a mild garlic taste. Then mash the cloves and use in the sauce, or spread on bread for easy garlic bread.
